- E.E.T. support & confidence building can help inspire young people to achieve, despite the economic disadvantages many are faced with at the start.
- Access to the right advice on support benefits & training grants can help alleviate some of the financial stresses faced when trying to make life better.
- Simply being around people that have the ambition to make things better either at the centre or in community groups help people's minds grow.
- Once a placement moves on to our Stage 3 Support programme, the family can live independently in a supplied, self contained, furnished apartment with needs based floating support. This is a chance to practice the life skills learnt within the centre such as time management & budgeting for bills & rent, cooking, cleaning etc. As Maternal Matters supply the accommodation, any threat of eviction & court action can be avoided should a family fall into difficulties. Families including fathers are able to stay within Stage 3 for up to 2 years so long as the user is progressing with their programme.
The five outcomes are universal ambitions for every child and young person, whatever their background or circumstances. Improving outcomes for all children and young people underpins all of the development and work within Children's Trusts.
The outcomes are mutually reinforcing. For example, children and young people learn and thrive when they are healthy, safe and engaged; and the evidence shows clearly that educational achievement is the most effective route out of poverty. Improving outcomes also involves narrowing the gap between disadvantaged children and their peers. The Government is focusing particularly on improving outcomes for looked-after children and children with special educational needs (SEN) and disabilities, also on reducing the incidence of teenage pregnancy and the number of young people not in education, employment or training.
The Government recognises the crucial role of parents, carers and families in improving outcomes for children and young people and the need to provide support for parents, carers and families in order for them to do so. The Government also recognises the important role of the local community.
We are recruiting now for full residential staff teams.
